2020 will be the year of alternative OS!

This year a bunch of mobile OSes — and related devices — will finally impact the market. Is no longer a question of “just an alternative” to Android/iOS: is about open source security!

The scene of mobile operating systems, after a phase of relative tranquility and a consolidated iOS / Android duopoly is about to see the arrival of a wave of new operating systems.

In recent years, in fact, anyone who wanted to try an alternative operating system to iOS and Android, would have had to choose OS Sailfish.
Or Windows Phone and Meego Harmattan on legacy devices and no longer updated.

The situation began to change with the arrival of KaiOS, a system however limited to mobile phones, and focused on developing countries.

A wave of new OS

During the second half of 2019 new contenders loomed on the horizon; projects active for years, but almost matured:
